Nondiscrimination

The Student Web Awards does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or ethnicity, nor will we tolerate any advertiser, sponsor, or Web site submission that supports such discrimination.

Web Site Accessibility and Safety Ratings

For your convenience, security, and peace of mind, we have rated all sections of the Student Web Awards site with both SafeSurf and The Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA), formerly known as RSACi. We strive for level A conformance to the W3C-WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Our site is "best viewed with any browser" and is designed for cross-platform, backwards-compatible functionality.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

At The Student Web Awards, we are committed to protecting your online privacy. You can travel through all public areas of our Web site without giving us any information about yourself.

Personal information on student designers collected in our official registration or submission forms, including information on Web site entries, teachers, and schools, will be used solely for purposes related to The Student Web Awards. No information collected by The Student Web Awards is given out or shared with a third party.

The Student Web Awards is proud to fully support The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, which applies to the online collection of personal information from children under the age of thirteen. We post a notice of our information practices on our Web site, and a link to these posted policies is provided from every page.

The following operator holds primary responsibility for collecting and maintaining students' personal information. (Other operators will be listed in this notice when and if they process students' personal information.)

The only personal data that is collected is the information that a student enters on his or her official registration or Web site submission forms. No information is collected passively. We do not use cookies, clear GIFs, or action tags, and we do not track individuals' use of the Student Web Awards site. The personal information that we do collect from students is used to notify contest winners and to inform past participants of future contests and upcoming deadlines.

NOTE TO PARENTS:  If you child is under the age of 13, you have the right to review the information that has been collected on your child, and you also have the right to refuse the collection of such information. However, for your child's safety and protection, you will need to provide proof of your status as a parent or legal guardian before we will release personal information about any child. (For example, we could provide such information to you by calling the same telephone number that was listed on the child's official registration or entry form.) Please contact the operator(s) listed above with any concerns regarding information collection.

Nonsupport of Inappropriate Content

The Student Web Awards will not consider any advertiser, sponsor, or Web site entry that supports, promotes, features, contains, depicts, or links to any sexually explicit or violent material, explicit or vulgar language, racist or otherwise discriminatory remarks, illegal activities, harm to others, or material that might be perceived as setting a bad example for young children. Advertisers, sponsors, or Web site submissions that feature, support, or otherwise promote the use of alcohol, tobacco, or firearms will not be tolerated. (See separate entry guidelines for more details on Web site entry qualifications.)

Links to Third Party Web Sites

Some of our Web pages may contain links to third party sites that will let you leave the Student Web Awards site. The linked sites are not under the control of The Student Web Awards and The Student Web Awards is not responsible for the contents of any linked site or any links contained in a linked site, or any changes or updates to such sites. The Student Web Awards is providing these links to you only as a convenience, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by The Student Web Awards of the site.

Web Site Terms of Use

Any resources on the Student Web Awards site is for your personal and non-commercial use. You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, software, products or services obtained from any section of the Student Web Awards site unless otherwise specifically indicated.

Dissemination of Policies
